PB&J Oatmeal

As one of my favorite breakfasts, PB&J Oatmeal couldn’t be easier.

Simply take 1/2 cup of either Old Fashioned Oats or Quick Cooking Oats.

I prefer Old Fashioned Oats for the extra texture.

Cook as directed with either water or milk.

I prefer my oats with water, but my husband HAS to have it made with milk. Weird.

Once cooked, add in a tablespoon of your favorite jelly and a tablespoon of peanut butter.

Dig in!

Do you prefer your oats with milk or water?

Do you prefer quick cooking or old fashioned oats?

P.S. As you’re reading this, I’m on my way with my sister-in-law, Rachel, my mother-in-law, Debbie, and my grandmother-in-law, Shelby, to Disney World for the weekend. Eeee!

  1. I prefer water but my fiance prefers milk… I’m not really sure what it is about the milk that turns me away, milk-lover that I am. But PB&J sounds like the perfect flavor combo for any type of oats – nothing is better than peanut butter and I recently tried jelly in my oatmeal and it was the perfect sweetener. Can’t wait to try them together! Have a lovely weekend!

  2. I saw you posted this and had to make it as soon as I saw it. I haven’t been able to eat since my tonsillectomy, and am sick of the same old mush (and starving!). One of the most filling things I’ve had in 10 days, Thanks! (I use half milk/water.) 🙂

  3. Hah! I just had my usual Saturday morning oatmeal, with water by the way, 1 TBL flax meal, cinn, chopped warm (defrosted) frozen peaches & toasted chopped walnuts. I am a ridiculous creature of habit and literally have certain foods I eat each day of the week, LOL! Always oats on Sat, some sort of homemade belg waffle on Sunday, etc. I am so silly about it I know ;0 I buy extra thick rolled oats in bulk in the Nutrition Dept. at my store. I am gonna have to branch out and try this, b/c I LOVE peanut butter!!! Oh and Mondays is grocery shopping day so I always take a sandwich with me and it is always peanut butter. Used to be with apple butter that I mail order locally, but lately it has been Pnt Btr & Co., Dark Choc Dreams with 1/2 banana, MMMmmm. Oh and lucky girl! Have fun @ Disney World! 🙂

  4. Interesting! Not sure why I have never thought to do this. I eat oatmeal every morning, mostly for it’s low-calories (which this won’t help exactly lol)…. but I will have to give this a go someday soon! Oh, and I always cook with water.
