Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Cups

Heaven in a cup…a cup that you can eat.

I oogled over Evan‘s Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse a few months ago and have had it on my ‘To-Make’ List. All I have to say is that I should have made it sooner. It is so good!!! :-)

And as an added bonus it was super easy to whip up.

I don’t think it will ever get old to watch someone sink their teeth into a tasty treat…

…hear the Mmmm’s from them…

…and then see their face when you tell them that it is made with tofu!

Bahaha! I love it!

adapted from The Wannabe Chef

Ingredients

  • 7 ounces soft (silken) tofu
  • 1/2 cup natural creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • dark chocolate cups (I got mine at world market)

How-To

  1. In a food processor or blender, combine all of the ingredients until well blended.
  2. Place the mousse in a pastry bag and swirl into the chocolate cups.
  3. Refrigerate or serve immediately! :-) They won’t last long!

You should give this tasty little treat a try…it’ll be a hit at your next party!

  19. Em says:

Could you describe the taste? The tofu is not cooked right?

    • caroline says:

You can’t taste the tofu at all and no, the tofu isn’t cooked. It just comes straight out of the carton and into the mousse. Let’s just say that my husband is a die-hard anti-tofu person and he couldn’t get enough of these. He’s already made me make them again. Mmm! And the texture is really smooth and it is very peanut buttery. :-)

  20. Lola says:

They look yummy, that’s for sure!!!
But do I have to use tofu? Can I just leave it out, will it still taste just as good?

    • caroline says:

The tofu is the glue that holds the mousse together. I wouldn’t recommend you leave it out. You may just have to find another recipe for peanut butter mousse if you don’t want to use the tofu. :)

  21. Guillermo says:

These are great but, I can’t find where to buy The chocolate cups and the Tofu :\

Would I be able to find the tofu at Price chopper? Does it matter what kind of Tofu I use as long as it’s soft?

I can’t wait to try these…question for you, Caroline, have you made them ahead of time? I was wondering if I could make them the day before.

    • caroline says:

I would think they’d be perfectly fine the next day. Just be sure to cover them and keep them in the fridge. :D

      • Lauren says:

Thanks for the quick response! Also, for all those that are looking for the chocolate cups, I found at World Market too. They have these super cute dark and white chocolate tuxedo cups too.
