Broiled S’mores Circles

So…no question about it, I love s’mores. I love them so much that I crave them in the dead heat of summer too. However, they always taste better by a camp fire. Something about the smoke. I don’t know. You know what I’m talking about.

To avoid getting schweaty, the trick is in the oven.

Bomb…ya got s’mores ready in seconds…and they’re bite size so there’s no mess! :D

Broiled S’mores Circles

very slightly adapted from Cooking Classy

Ingredients

  • low fat graham cracker sheets
  • marshmallows
  • dark chocolate kisses, unwrapped

How-To

  1. Using a round biscuit cutter, cut circles out of the graham crackers.
  2. Place the graham cracker circles right next to each other on a baking sheet, in the middle of the baking sheet (for even broiling).
  3. Put a marshmallow in the center of each circle.
  4. Place the baking sheet on the bottom rack.
  5. Broil on low for just a minute or two, until the marshmallows are slightly browned. This will happen very quickly.
  6. Remove from the oven and quickly push down a kiss on each marshmallow.
  7. Serve warm!

  7. These are cute! I tried explaining s’mores the other day to some Germans and they all groaned and then said that this is why Americans are fat. I wanted to slap them. Because as we all know, beer and sausage is totally light on the calories and fat free. Hmp.

    This is convenient if you want to make a lot, but I have to say, for small quantities, I like to “roast” my marshmallows over the stove. I just turn on a burner (it even works with electric!), wait for it to heat up, stab a disposable chopstick into a marshmallow, and hold it straight over the burner, rotating it until it’s golden brown. Works just as good as a fire, and kind of makes me feel like I’m camping at home. :)

  12. Wow what a superb great idea!! I like this method way better because when making this at a regular fire the marshmallows tend to burn, not good. I am going to get some free high fructose corn syrup marshmallows and make some for my kids!! Thanks for sharing. By the way how is that little bundle of joy??
