I was feeling quite crafty and wanted to add some drama to our backyard. A trip to Lowes was in order…on a mission to mix and match some elegant and colorful plants together to make a hanging basket and a window basket. Since it’s the middle of the summer here in South Carolina, the plants are a bit cheaper than if you bought them in the Spring. On the down side there are a bit less of a variety. Here’s what I came up with. It was SUPER easy to make too!
Cascading Hanging Iron Basket
Items
- 1 Pink Zinnia
- 1 White Petunia
- 1 Purple Angelonia
- 1 Spike Dracaena
- 1 Sweet Potato Vine
- Potting soil
- Basket Liner
- Iron Hanging Basket
- Water
How-To
- Collect your items.
- Arrange your plants in the pot as desired.
- Add potting soil in between the plants.
- Drench with water.
- Hang and enjoy!

With about 30 minutes of time and $50, you can turn a dull yard into an oasis with cascading hanging baskets and feel accomplished. Happy Gardening!
