Welcome to the fourth day of the {12} Decadent Days of Christmas!
And to put us in the Christmas spirit, Logan and I saw the Trans-Siberian Orchestra last night. It Was AWESOME! If you ever have a chance to see them, you must. It is totally worth the money.
Okay, now that the T.S.O. commercial is over…
Story time!
Once upon a time, there lived 4 sisters. These sisters slept in the same double bed on the night of Christmas Eve, awaiting Santa’s arrival. With the bedroom decorated with colored lights, they slept very softly, waking at any soft movement…waking at least every hour (Until the year when Mom got smart and gave them Tylenol PM before bed). Finally, when the clock struck 4am-5am, the girls decided it was morning enough to jump out of bed and wake their parents. They then all rushed into the kitchen awaiting their parents’ approval to run through the gift wrapped door to the living room, hiding the generous and beautiful gifts from Santa.
After all the gifts had been opened and evidence of Santa’s presence had been discovered, the breakfast bake was hot out of the oven, filling the house with spicy smells and warm feelings. The family then gathered around the kitchen table, and served up the delicious meal (remember, this is still only around 6am at this point). During the meal, they each took turns doing the age-old English tradition of cracking Christmas crackers (also known as poppers): popping the cracker with a loud crack, putting on their crown, reading their joke, and sharing what toy they got.
With full bellies, they moved back into the living room to admire and thank Santa and their parents for all of the beautiful gifts they had received.
The End.
I hope you enjoyed the story and equally enjoy preparing this easy family pleasing Christmas meal.
