So how about those commercials last night! Some definite funny ones! My favorite was the VW ‘The Force’ commercial. While Logan, Ben and I were enjoying these commercials, we were loving these brownies.
I hadn’t made brownies in quite a while. However, lately I have been drooling over all of the different brownies that Evan, from The Wannabe Chef, has been baking. I thought I’d try his Better Than Boxed Brownies…with a little chocolate & carrots twist!
I didn’t have any gluten-free all-purpose flour, so I used the good ol’e whole wheat pastry flour. They seemed to be more crumbly than Evan’s looked from his photos. But, crumbs never stopped me from eating a brownie! 😉
The chocoholic I am, I chose to top these delicious brownies with dark chocolate M&M’s. Yum! The definitely give these a nice crunch in every bite. But, feel free to top these with anything your heart desires. 😀
Warning: Brownies are best consumed warm with a glass of milk.

VERY cute! I’m sure they were delicious!
Indeed they were! 😀
This reminds me that I need more brownies for V-day 🙂 The M&M’s are a great festive touch.
Thanks! 😀 And thank you so much for sharing your recipe!
Have you tried these bad boys? http://cheaphealthygood.blogspot.com/2008/09/bride-of-frankenfood-black-bean.html
Black bean brownies! I tried them once and they were good, though I would recommend food processing the beans more than you think you need! Actually, I have a stray box of brownie mix, maybe I’ll make them again tonight… thanks for the inspiration! Yours look delicious with the M&Ms on top!
Ooo….I haven’t tried black bean brownies! I’ll definitely give them a try! Thanks for the link April! 😀
I just found a recipe for black bean brownies today! I can’t wait to try them.
Everything tastes good with M&Ms on it! I like the idea of a crunchy chocolate topping for the brownies.
😀 So good. They only lasted a day. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to make some more! 😉
Wow, those look really dark and rich!
Indeed. Dark chocolate is my all time favorite! 😀
What a cute sweet treat! I just love the seasonal M&Ms.
😀 Thanks! Mmmm M&M’s. So good!
Beautiful! One question – when did you put the m&ms on?
I put them on before I put the in the oven. I also pushed them into the brownies just a little bit to insure that they would stick. 😀
are M&Ms vegan?
Unfortunately, dark chocolate M&M’s are not vegan. They contain some skim milk…although it is less than found in regular M&M’s. You could use sprinkles on top for some color and a nice crunch! 😀
Can I use regular all purpose flour? Or would that mess up the whole thing?
I’m not sure. It will definitely make them more light and fluffy, but you might need more/less liquid. I don’t think you’d have any problems making them with maybe half all purpose and half whole wheat flour. I hope that helps Bianca. 🙂
These look amazing! Growing up I was always a fan of the cosmic Little Debbie brownies and these remind me of them but better!
I know the exact ones! The definitely remind me of those. Except these are much better for you. 😀
