No, it’s not Easter…yet.
It was my sister, Eliza’s 14th birthday on Friday.
She is a vegetarian.
This cake was completely by request.
It was her only chance to ever eat an animal.
And this is ironic…tasty, but ironic.
I used my great grandmothers cast-iron lamb mold and used my grandmother’s recipe for Sour Cream Chocolate Cake (look out for this recipe soon!) for the guts of the lamb, dark chocolate ganache as the next layer, and buttercream frosting for its cute little fluffy fur (and, like Margaret’s cake, buttercream flowers for decoration).
I was really nervous that the cake wouldn’t turn out, but it was a great success. Deliciously tasty and good looking!
Below is my husband being funny. Real cute. 😉 Love you! He is always there to entertain us and to give us a good laugh.
“Oh no, they are about to neuter me!’
Sorry little lamb, you sure did taste good! 😀
And if you were wondering the frosting to cake ratio was a little off. It would have been much much better to have had a fatter lamb mold so that there was a little more cake underneath all of that good icing! 😀 Until next time…
