We’ve hit the beginnings of grilling season and this week we had a veggie hotdog night!
I prepared the salads while I had the corn boiling on the stove. Then, I took everything out to the grill (yes, I grill…after Logan (the grill master) taught me) and lightly grilled the corn for extra flavor while the veggie dogs were on.
And how about the colors on that spinach, strawberry, pecan, goat cheese salad! Love it!
And now for the purpose of this post. I want to know how you eat your corn!
Are you a spiral-around-the-cob type of person?
Or are you a in-a-straight-line type of person?
Now, can you tell which one cob is mine and which is my husbands? Hint: he is holding both while I take the photos, so no cheating! π π
I’m guessing you are the straight line?? I love grilled corn!
My mom and I don’t do anything particular when eating corn, but my dad only eats it in a straight line because we think that’s weird and have never heard of anyone eating it a specific way π
I guess there’s always a third way: random. Think of entropy in our universe and concentrate it to an ear of corn.
waaaant that salad! (is there any dressing on it? like a vinaigrette?) i love goat cheese. really this whole meal looks delicious…and straight across is the best way π
Haha…it was a delicious salad, indeed. π I just used a basic balsamic vinaigrette to lightly top it. π
I think you ate the straight line cob. (Mainly because he’s holding that one with one hand as if it was handed to him π
Hi Caroline π Love the presentation of your salad! What dressing did you use? I think you are a straight line kinda girl like me π I looks more girly gobbled, LOL!
I just used a basic balsamic vinaigrette just to lightly cover the spinach leaves. I didn’t want to over power the fresh and powerful flavors of the strawberries and goat cheese. Yum! π
Caroline, everything looks beautiful as usual! I’ve been making spinach and strawberry salads for weeks now.I started when Harris Teeter put the strawberries 4 for $5.00. I sprinkle fresh parmesan cheese over the salad. I eat my corn in a straight row. I usually eat silver queen raw, haven’t cooked it in years.
(I bought it at the Cola. Farmer’s Market when I lived in Cola. and bought it from Leland Farms on Wadmalaw Island when they were still farming.)
I love reading your webpage and seeing all the beautiful pictures!
