Remember this post?
Ever since that post, I’ve been reading a lot. I just finished:
It was a quick read…but a very good one at that. 🙂
Synopsis:
The 39 year old married mother of 2 sons, Kelly, is depressed. She has hit her mid-life crisis. Kelly decides things need to change. So she begins compiling T2C (Things to Change) post-it notes around her house and car, as every day reminders of how she is going to actively make her life better. I love it!!! Here, Home, Hope does just that: inspires its readers women to take charge of their lives and to be happy.
I could definitely relate to Kelly along her journey. I too named my car (my ’93 mustang was named Bob). I’m obsessed with post-it notes. I’m currently in a journey to take charge of my life and start my own business (here’s to hoping it will eventually lead to Chocolate & Carrots Bakery and Cafe). Eeeee!
Anyway. I hope you give this book a try. You can find out where to buy a copy here.
Thanks for the book suggestion, and good luck on the bakery idea! I actually put together a whole business plan for one a year or so ago and went to talk to an SBA adviser at the Greater Cola Chamber who thought that it could be a great idea. If you haven’t talked to one of the SBA advisers, I definitely recommend it, they really pull out the things you might not have known to focus on (plus they are free!).
That’s awesome. Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely have to look into a SBA adviser. 😀 Yay!
Sounds like a very inspiring book! I love the bakery cafe idea! I have always been inspired to open up a healthy bakery & cafe too!
Caroline, love this review and LOVE the chart! You put so much thought and creativity into your posts. Thanks for participating in this One2One Network Campaign!
Thank you so much Linda! 😀 I appreciated the opportunity to read the book!
We love your chart! The T2C list is very inspiring. I found myself wanting to write things down on post-it notes as I read the book. I was so pleased to see the entire list of them when I finished reading it.
Thanks for your wonderful review!
Thank you so much Malia! I did the same thing, I’m making it my goal to do the same. I love post-it notes! My husband better prepare himself for a colorful house! 😉
Caroline!
I loved your review of HERE, HOME, HOPE and especially your personalization of the T2C chart! One of my favorite reviews ever!
As a woman entrepreneur myself, I love it when women read this book and are inspired not just by the story, but by the embedded messages!
Good luck with your dreams. Just remember to keep putting the real you in your business – my first book Real You Incorporated: 8 Essentials for Women Entrepreneurs goes over all of that – and you’ll be great!
Thanks again for a special review!
Fondly,
Kaira
