One of the nicest people that have ever contacted me through chocolate & carrots, Ashley, asked me to make an owl cake for her boyfriend like the one I made for one of my sister’s birthday’s. Remember?
I made all of the owls out of rice crispy treats, then covered them with fondant.
The cake was a yellow cake (4″ and 6″ layer), covered in turquoise buttercream and fondant.
Well, it was a joy to make. And after 12 hours of work, lots of planning in the shipping realm, we shipped it off!
By shipping it over night and packing it with love…
Ashley sent me photos of how well the cake had shipped:
Looks pretty good to me!!!
Thanks again Ashley for the opportunity to make this cake for you! 🙂
Great looking cake, it’s gorgeous. I’d be too afraid to eat it almost.
Haha…I know! That first cut of a cake you’ve worked so long on always hurts a little. 😉 But, it’s worth it to see their face (or in this case…read the words).
What a cute cake! I love owls and I am in love with these! great job!
Thank you Britton! 🙂
This looks amazing. Absolutely stunning.
Thank you so much Evan. 🙂
I’m begining to wonder if there’s anything that you can’t do… Ü
Ha….there’s plenty. I’m constantly learning and I can’t wait for my next challenge! 🙂 And it helps that I’m a perfectionist, too…most of the time. 😉 Thank you for being so nice Jiggs! 🙂 You’re too sweet.
That looks great, *especially* for having been shipped! Beautiful!
Those might be the cutest cakes ever! LOVE
What to say… other than WOW.
That is one of the coolest cakes I have ever seen! WOW! Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

I am just catching up on email and was delighted to see this cake. Logan did a great job describing the process because his description made the cake and the packaging sound awesome – and they truly were! One day, you will be famous and have a show on the Food Network, if you so desire… Your talent, creativity and energy are incredible gifts.
This is sooooo cute. I love the colors.
