Last month I had the pleasure of attending my first food blogging conference. It was held in Nashville, TN, which was lucky for me because my best friend, Kala, lives there and I had never been!
Not counting my 2 travel days, I spent 4 full days in Nashville.
On that Friday before the Food Blog Forum, I decided to tour the Nashville Zoo.
It was a typical zoo, loads of animals, a mule that was rolling around in the dirt like a dog, sleeping flamingos, and so many people, you could hardly walk. Nevertheless, the weather was great weather and it was fun.
That night was the Food Blog Forum’s first event. It was held at the Nashville Farmer’s Market and everyone got to mingle, eat and see a cooking demonstration by the restaurant owner and Top Chef contestant, Arnold Myint!
Let’s just say that the two things I went home with that night was the love and obsession with the Loveless Cafe’s biscuits with jam and the coolest and HEAVIEST swag bag I’d ever seen. 🙂
The next day was the actual event. Loads and loads of information and I was just so in awe by all of the famous and talented food bloggers that I didn’t even think to snap any photos.
Alas, the next two days Kala showed me around the city.
We quickly drove through the downtown/honky-tonk area. Notice the irony of the street signs in the photo below…Gay Street turns into Church Street. 😉
I also just had to take a photo of the batman building…also known as the at&t building. You could see it all over the city. I could just picture batman’s headquarters somewhere in that building. 😉
Driving through Centennial Park, we saw the life-sized replica of the Parthenon. Who know that Nashville had a thing for Greece!
Driving through Franklin at sunset was gorgeous. I could just imagine that Miley Cyrus was walking down the sidewalks. 😉 Don’t laugh, but I have a secret obsession with her music.
Finally, we got drove a little further and saw the Loveless Cafe and drove down the Natchez Trace Parkway. It reminded me a lot of the Blue Ridge Parkway for all of you Easterners. 🙂
All in all, it was a great trip filled with friends, old and new. If you are a food blogger, I highly recommend that you go to a Food Blog Forum event. It is top notch and well worth the money! 🙂
I’m originally from TN, and I even lived in Nashville for a little while. It was great seeing your photos from the time you spent there. It makes me homesick. 🙂
Love this post! I’m so happy you came to visit! Great photos too 🙂
that looks like a blast! I’ve never been to Nashville, minus driving through it, and I would love to go sightsee. Plus, a food blog forum sounds amazing!
I grew up in Nashville and Franklin living there for about 25 yrs. and miss it very much – your pics brought tears to my eyes! We are so homesick for the east – in SF, CA now and hope to move back soon. I am making your hamburger buns today! Thanks so much for the very nice blog.
I’ve never been to Nashville. It looks lovely! I’d love to have an excuse to visit.
Going to try your nutter butters!
