My parent’s raised me a Presbyterian (USA). Growing up, I was very active at church…I was confirmed in the church (became a member & professed my faith) and became our church’s first ordained youth elder. My mom even worked at the church (children’s director and director of the preschool)! Needless to say, I was at church a lot.
We would go to Tuesday night dinners every week before choir/handbell/ensemble practices. It was great! Every year, though, I always looked forward to the Pancake supper. It came around every year, the day before Ash Wednesday (the start of Lent…the Easter season). Fat Tuesday! π
So, I thought I’d give you an assortment of pancake recipes that I’ve made over the last year and a half for Pancake Tuesday! I hope you enjoy!
2. Whole Wheat Pancakes for Two
3. Whole Wheat Zucchini Pancakes
5. Gluten Free Pancakes (Chickpea pancakes)
6. Healthy Fulfilling Pancakes
7. Favorite Pancakes (silver dollar pancakes)
8. Whole Wheat Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes
9. Whole Wheat Oatmeal Pancakes
I hope you enjoy these recipes! They are all fabulous! π Have a great Pancake Tuesday!
And can you tell I like peanut butter? π
These all look great! I have been using chickpea flour lately and love it! Did you grow up at Mt P Presbaterin (sp) I didn’t but my moms best friend went there and used to bring us to pancake dinners several years! Great memories

Mmm too many to choose from! I’m just going to stare at these for a while…
I grew up Presbyterian too and always looked forward to the Fat Tuesday pancake feed. Last night I mentioned it to my husband and he thought I was nuts…I didn’t realize that it wasn’t something that happened across all denominations. Your list of pancakes is great, I want them all!
ooh, i love this pancake roundup of yours – they all look wonderful, especially the silver dollar ones. yum! i haven’t planned what to make for dinner tonight yet, and am now thinking pancakes might be in order! =)
You are the second blog I’ve read that mentioned pancakes before the start of lent. I have never heard of this tradition but LOVE it. Maybe next year I’ll start the tradition of king cake pancakes for breakfast on Mardi Gras.
These all look amazing! Now incredibly hungry and craving more pancakes than I could possibly eat!
I had no idea that today was pancake day until I looked at my Google Reader! I don’t know how I can be so clueless. I love pancakes. Yours look especially yummy. And healthy. π
Your pancake pictures are gorgeous!
