Two Peas in a Pod Sugar Cookies {Brooke’s Virtual Baby Shower}

Surprise!!!

My good foodie friend and mom-to-be, Brooke from Baking with Basil, is expectingย just hadย twins! We first met ‘in person’ last year at the Food Blog Forum in Nashville, Tennessee. Then, we met up for a double date to Ikea a couple of months ago on a mission to buy nursery furniture!

Since we’re all so far apart, I thought it would be fun to host a ‘virtual’ baby shower for Brooke! Keep scrolling down to see what everyone else brought to the party!

I’ve made these adorable sugar cookies for the party! The cookies were soft and delicious, with the best part…the crunchy royal icing topping!

I followed Marian’s sugar cookie and royal icing recipe. You just can’t beat it! One tip though, you must make sure that the dough (once cut) is really cold when you stick it in the oven. That way, they keep their adorable shapes!

Since Brooke is having twins and is on ‘Team Green’ (not finding out the sex of the babies)…and ended up having two beautiful baby boys!…, I thought it would be precious to make Two Peas in a Pod cookies. Once I got baking, I let my creative loose and did little booties, and sparkly foot prints, and even little babies!

Well, I hope you travel around Brooke’s virtual baby shower and enjoy the delicious foods that we’ve prepared!

  2. Aww, nice. Your cookies are adorable! You’re really talented with the whole royal icing thing. If I even attempted making these, I’m afraid my babies would come out looking a bit deformed. Really good job!

  3. Yours are SO adorable. I love it! They look too pretty to eat, but who am I kidding? I’d eat them all, oh, but would leave some to share for this shower hehe ๐Ÿ˜‰ thanks for putting this together!!

  5. Caroline, these cookies are amazing! You did such a beautiful job on them, and especially all the details. Brooke is a lucky to have such a talented friend! Congratulations to her on her incoming bundles of joy, and you for creating such a pretty batch of cookies.

  6. Looks like quite the baby shower! You girls must have planned ahead of time who was bringing what, cause you have a wonderful variety here! Your cookies look wonderful, Caroline – you are one talented sugar cookie decorator! I would have a hard time biting into one to ruin the design, but they look so tasty!

  7. Oh my goodness, how cute!
    I’m loving the name of your blog btw. I have a feeling we have the same weakness for sweets, but also love to try and stay fit/healthy.
    Thanks for the shout-out as well. =)
