I’m getting all prepared to go to deliver this baby! We’ve got a freezer full of frozen meals, but had no dessert! I can’t be expected to whip up cookies when the baby gets here, or better yet, make cookies while I’m in labor to bring to the nurses!
Hence, the frozen cookie dough.
I just made these cookies (without the nuts), scooped them onto baking sheets, and froze them! Once, they were frozen, I placed the dough balls into a freezer bag, labeled it, and it’ll stay in the freezer until I’m ready to have myself a cookie!
When you’re ready to bake the cookies, preheat the oven to 350°F, leave about 2″ of space between cookies, and bake for 8-10 minutes…straight from frozen!
Do you have a frozen cookie dough recipe you’d like to share (just leave links in the comment section below)?
I’d love to make more. Gotta stock up on the sweets! 😀
I need to start doing this! My kids are always asking for chocolate chip cookies but then I end up eating them all! I could make just a few at a time!
I love this idea! I keep a batch of these cookies in the freezer are are perfect when made from frozen (they just keep their ball-like shape) for 15 minutes. http://bit.ly/KrME3W
For some reason I freeze cookies but never freeze the dough… probably because I’m usually too anxious to bake:-)
Neat! This is such a great idea!
Ha you’re cracking me up. Prepping desserts for later. Too funny but a great idea.
great idea! I am so excited for you!
Yum! This is totally brilliant for those nights when I reaaaally need to restrict myself to just one freshly baked cookie. 😉
i do the same thing with my nutella chocolate chip cookies: http://www.fearlesshomemaker.com/2011/02/nutella-cookies/
the recipe makes a huuuuuge amount of cookies, but with only two of us in the house, it’s too tempting to make the whole batch at once – we’ll eat them all! so, i either send most to work with D, or freeze a good amount of them to make later, or combination of both. =)
It’s great that you’re so prepared! And these look delicious in dough form. I do the same with the New York Times chocolate chip cookie because I don’t need like 5 pounds of cookies at once. 🙂 They come out just as good as when baked from the fridge.

Wow! This is such a great idea and so simple. Perfect for those unexpected guests or busy party-time treat! Thanks for sharing!
Great idea! I need to make these!
I absolutely love stashing cookie dough in the freezer for another day. It’s so easy, almost too easy 🙂
What a great thing to have in the freezer for when the baby arrives. I am so excited for you!! And these cookies look amazing. Although, I’m pretty sure that I would sneak the dough often enough that there would rarely be any cookies baked out of them!
Though I may not remember all the advice that’s given to me when my husband and I decide to start a family, I’ll remember this! What a brilliant idea and an exciting time for you both! Thanks for sharing these great looking cookies, Caroline. Also, I’m having a ChicWrap giveaway today that you should enter!
I do it with scones, which if you add enough stuff to them become like cookies anyway 🙂
Bet you are soooo excited for your little one. Smart you to prepare these little nibbles for when you will be so busy!
So smart! I always freeze the cookies and not the dough too, but I definitely need to try things this way. Thinking of you and that babe and wishing you well 🙂
you are a girl after my own heart. I love my freezer and it is always filled with sauces, frozen purees, homemade waffles, muffins, and scones, and of course, cookie doughs. Congrats on the baby – having your freezer stalked is key with a new little obsession around!
There aren’t enough words to describe just how much I love this.
I love freezing cookie dough!
I just did this yesterday with a recipe for “lactation cookies”. : ) You can find the recipe here: http://www.drmomma.org/2010/08/lactation-cookies-recipe-increasing.html
That’s awesome! Ever since I’ve been breastfeeding I’ve been pumping the oatmeal and flaxseed. That’s such a great idea! 😀
