HA! I did it again! 😀
Remember these from last week??? Well, these are an adaptation of those. Raspberry and chocolate is my husband’s all-time favorite flavor combination, so these were a must make for me.
And boy, were they amazing! There are chunks of raspberries and chocolate chips throughout the donuts. Perfection.
How cute is the icing too??? No food coloring here…100% pure fruit to make that pink shine!
So, go make someone smile by making these. Just do it. (nike?)

- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Spray your donut pan with cooking spray and set aside.
- Meanwhile, beat the eggs, milk, and olive oil together.
- Add in the remaining ingredients and stir until combined.
- Spoon the batter into the donut pan holes, filling to a little under 2/3 full.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Allow them to cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
- In the meantime, prepare the glaze.
- 1/4-1/2 cup frozen raspberries, thawed and puréed
- 2-3 cups powdered sugar
- Combine both ingredients until blended.
- Dip the donuts in the glaze.
- Serve and enjoy!
Servings: 1 dozen donuts
They look so gorgeous!! Are you sure they aren’t fake? 🙂
(I want one..)
I have a raspberry cake in the oven right now and it smells so good – these donuts must be next on the list!
These are absolutely gorgeous!
These look fabulous! Yum!
i still have homemade chocolate donuts on my to-do list — must try them soon!
The colors are SO pretty! The pink just pops in such a gorgeous way. And I love chocolate… and raspberries so this is seriously perfect.
I am still thinking about those donuts from last week! These look delish, too!
Love, love, love the pink icing! Chocolate and raspberry is one of my favorite dessert combos. Sounds perfect for donuts! 🙂
gorgeous! i LOVE raspberries + chocolate together. these would not last more than 43 seconds in my house.
So pretty! It makes me giggle that your hubs’s favorite combo makes for a very pink donut. Has he discovered those raspberry M&Ms in Target yet?!?
Haha, yes! I made them into cookies and he was in heaven. 😉
Baked donuts are my favorite. I haven’t used my donut pan in a while but after seeing these I may just need to whip them up. Great combination and so pretty! 🙂
How did you know chocolate and raspberry was one of my very favorite flavor combinations?? 🙂 I can’t wait to make these, and since my husband doesn’t eat raspberries, I won’t have to share!
I’m leaving work to go buy a doughnut pan right now…these look amazing and I LOVE that they are whole wheat! You are a genius Caroline!
Yes I still remember these from last week and yes I still want to try them… YUM!!
SO pretty! They look delicious.
Oooooh, I love the hot pink icing! I love the choc/rasp flavor combo too!
What pretty icing! I’m crazy about white chocolate and raspberries. Too bad you can’t really make white chocolate things very healthy. But normal chocolate and raspberries is also yummy! You did an amazing icing job here. 🙂
Can I use fresh raspberries?
Of course…even better! 🙂
I JUST GOT MY DONUT PAN TODAY!! and i completely, utterly can NOT wait to make some donuts!! these look so good and just like last week’s, I wish I could eat the entire pan! Or share with you 🙂 but that means we’d have to move closer to each other! hehe
Love it!! I could eat one right about now 🙂 Amazing looking glaze!! it’s just the most dark pink vivid color, yummy!
What a beautiful contrast with those colors! That looks so incredible! I need to go out and get a doughnut pan to make these!!!!
Wow, I love that color. Gorgeous! I could take 1(or 5! hah) right now 😀
What a gorgeous pink!! I want one NOW!!
These look so fantastic! I must make them soon!
These look absolutely amazing! And all of your pictures are absolutely gorgeous, too!
I already have a doughnut pan on my Christmas list – I can’t wait to get it!
I made these today and I didn’t have the special dark cocoa. Ithink it would be much better with it. Having said that, I loved them, and so did my son.
I followed the recipe to the letter and my dough was very clumpy, as if it were not wet enough. you sure it’s one cup of milk and not two? I’ve made donuts before, and don’t think the batter should be dry. Thoughts?
I think I know what my problem was. I was using coconut flour which is way more absorbent than regular flour. Also, I didn’t make the right ratio adjustment for coconut to wheat flour. 1/4 cup coconut to 3/4 cup regular flour.
Ah, yes. That’ll do it! 🙂
I’m in the process of making these and it is not runny at all. I will try and add more milk. This is my first try at baking donuts. Hopefully they turn out!
I only had 1 egg so maybe that was it. I added 1/4 c mix of water and oil and seemed to do the trick.
Last comment! 🙂
They turned out just great. I didn’t put raspberries in them because I didn’t have any, i just put the chocolate chips on them. I plan to make a chocolate icing and crush candy canes to put on top. It’s for a belated Christmas party.
Thanks for a wonderful recipe!
Although the pictures are great, donuts are not really that good. Flavor is a 6 from a scale of 1 to 10 and to get to that pink shade took me more than 5 cups of confectioners’ sugar and had to pass the raspberry puree through a sieve. None of my 3 kids liked them so I’m trying a new batch with regular all-purpose flour. Not to be mean but if this were a forum like allrecipes.com these donuts wouldn’t make it to 3 stars. Good try though.
I’m so sorry to hear that Minerva. I’ve made these donuts several times, all turning out delicious! There’s also been other readers who have tried this recipe and all had great success. I’m not sure what happened other than just difference in taste. Whole wheat flour does make for a denser donut, but the health benefits are worth it in my book. I do love how rich and moist the donuts are. I’m not sure what when wrong with your raspberry icing either. The only thing I can think of is the freshness of the frozen raspberries that went into it? I’m not sure. Again, I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy them. Maybe next time. Happy Baking!
Sorry to say this but the version with all-purpose flour didn’t work either 🙁
My quest is to find a good recipe for baked donuts. Thanks for your reply and take care.
Do you have a recipe that doesn’t use the cocoa powder? I want to omit and use white chocolate chips. Any suggestions?
I’m not sure if it’ll work with white chocolate chips in the shell of the macarons, but my friend Bridget from Bake at 350 has a basic macaron recipe that you can probably use and fill it with white chocolate chips! 🙂 Happy Baking!
