New Look!

Welcome to the new Chocolate & Carrots!

New

My dear husband has been working on this in the wee hours of the night for the last few months in between chaos and more chaos. I’m so glad it’s finally ready to go live!

If you’ll remember to just yesterday, my website looked like this:

This is how it’s looked for the past 3.5 years. It was time for a change.

Tada!

So, here we are!

It’s pretty similar to the previous layout in that it’s simple, easy to navigate and has emphasis on the visual elements. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away!

Over the next few months we’ll be making additional improvements like:

  • Print Recipe Button
  • Visual Recipe Index
  • Recipe Box around the recipe
  • and more!

What would you do to improve the website? What elements do you like to see on websites you visit?

  1. It looks amazing! Tell Logan awesome job and that Alex is super jealous of your responsive design. We looked at it together and the first thing he did was resize the window and say, “AWW! They have the good stuff!” And then he looked at the source. 😀

    Someone’s jealous. 😉

PS – I love that the source of the recipe is readable now! No more zooming. 🙂

Did you decide against ads or are they going on the left? I’m nosy. 😀

Yay! SO, so happy you got your new design!

And heck. Here’s another smiley. 🙂

        1. It probably thinks I’m a troll since I comment so little ;-). Actually, wordpress does some weird stuff with spam and comments. Thanks for the heads up.

  2. I love it, except I read your posts through a reader and now they are cut off so I have to transfer to your site. It’s good that I can see the new design, but it is a bit of a pain to transfer over every time.

  3. Hi, Caroline. I’m brand new here and just found your Italian Grilled Cheese page on Stumbleupon. I am blown away by how clean and beautiful your design is! Most of us bloggers (including me!) have loads of ads and buttons and other things all over the place. Your site is really beautiful and shows off you and your lovely food 🙂

  4. Hi Caroline, I’m new here, and I love your site. I’ve been looking through different recipes (not all yours) and I’ve found a lot of them call for Stevia. All though I’m diabetic I am allergic to the fake sugars and must use whole sugar I just have to watch how much I eat. I’ve been using it in my recipes for years and doing great so far. Do you know of a way to convert Stevia or other fake sugars to sugar? I’ll be trying your Whole Wheat Lemon Sugar Cookies today, there’s no milk involved, which is great, because you see I’m also Lactose intolerant. Thank you for any help you can give.

    1. Hi Judy, I’m so glad to hear you’re trying the Lemon Sugar Cookies! They’re delicious! I’m afraid I’m not going to be much help in that conversion. I’ve used fake sugar once and couldn’t stand it. Instead, I’m all about reducing the amount of real sugar in a recipe. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. Happy Baking! 🙂
