Apple season and Whole Grains Month are here!
While it’s still blistering hot in South Carolina, that isn’t stopping me from enjoying the beautiful flavors of the season. This Apple Pie Smoothie is just the ticket! It’s tart, creamy and perfectly refreshing. I love that there’s a bite from the Granny Smith apples, spice from the apple pie spice and texture from the whole grains.
Bonus, it’s SO much healthier than eating a slice of apple pie and there’s a secret bunch of fresh spinach in the smoothie!
Shhh…don’t tell.
I’m off to another day of housework! I can’t wait to move in and show you all that we did to our new house!
Apple Pie Smoothie for one
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup non fat plain greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach
- 1 small granny smith apple, cored and sliced
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
- 1 tablespoon apple pie spice
- 1 cup crushed ice
How-To
- Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy!
Servings: 1 smoothie
Note: This smoothie should remind you off a tart apple pie. If you prefer a sweeter pie smoothie, simply add more honey.
This sounds lovely! Apple pie in a smoothie?! YES!
Gorgeous photos! Love all of that green. And this smoothie looks like the perfect healthier way to satisfy the ol’ apple pie craving. Beautiful!
This sounds absolutely perfect!
Voted and pinned the recipe !
That looks soooo tasty…apples pies and smoothies, I couldn’t find a more perfect combination.
That looks delicious! I tried to create an account to vote, but I’m getting an error message. 🙁 I’ll keep trying though!
The colour of this smoothie is incredible! My mornings usually begin with a smoothie for breakfast and I can definitely see myself recreating this apple and spinach one. Thanks for the great idea!
Beautiful smoothie. I love the spinach and apple pie spice! Pinned!
This sounds yum! Just found your recipe through Pinterest. I’m going to have to try it with pear as well…we have a bunch in the fridge that really need to get used up. 🙂
Using a pear is a great idea! I actually have a few pears ready to go on my counter! 😀 Yum!
