39 weeks with baby #2

39 weeks pregnant with baby #2 | crackersandcarrots.com

To recap, I had an ultrasound on Tuesday to get an estimate on the baby’s weight. The ultrasound tech estimated a 7.1 pound baby, but there’s a 1 pound error, making it possible that the baby was measuring around 8 pounds. When my OB heard 7 pounds, she didn’t believe it. Even when feeling around my belly, she said there was no way this was just a 7 pound baby, it has to be bigger. She gave us the option of inducing the baby any day beginning this Friday (39 weeks + 1 day). I think we’ve decided on being induced on the due date (February 5th), which means it’s possible that the baby could be upwards of 9.5 pounds. Eek! Fingers crossed he/she decides to arrive before then!

How far along? 39 weeks
Total weight gain:
18 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes, silly.
Stretch marks? Meh, just a few.
Sleep: A head cold has kept me from breathing normally while sleeping, but I’m trying to get the best nights sleep that I can, knowing it will all end very soon.
Best moment this week:
Seeing the baby via ultrasound, even though it was hard to see since he/she is so big!
Miss Anything? Running around with Liam.
Movement: This baby is going to kick it’s way out…on my right side only.
Food cravings: Mint chocolate chip ice cream. So much ice cream.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really.
Gender: It’s a surprise! And I can’t wait to find out! So soon.
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks contractions, but almost 2 cm dilated and 85% effaced.
Symptoms: Feeling heavy, pressure in the pelvis.
Belly Button in or out? Flat.
Wedding rings on or off? On and fitting loosely.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy.
Looking forward to: Having an induction date, baby is coming within the week!
