Hayden is an incredibly decisive baby. He isn’t afraid to show you if he likes something or not, either. He is black and white. When I was brainstorming themes for his first birthday party, I always went back to black and white. Then, I threw in the gold because he is also a very expressive baby. It makes for quite a meaningful and beautiful party theme, if you ask me!
We celebrated his first birthday on Saturday with our family and I have all of the photos I took below for you to browse! I also listed links to all of the party supplies and outfits at the bottom of this page. Have fun looking through these photos!
Don’t miss the cake smash photos, too!
Okay, here’s a little backstory on the cake smash. Hayden still refuses to feed himself anything soft, wet, squishy, etc. He does amazing with dry foods, but has a complete breakdown with wet foods. You can only imagine what he’d do when we put him in front of a cake with wet frosting.
Wait for it…
Here goes nothing!
THE CAKE SMASH
As soon as he was all cleaned up from that epic sad cake smash, I cut off the icing from a cupcake and gave him a dry cupcake.
He loved it! No tears.
Lesson learned: No frosting for this boy. Had a known that, I would have saved myself the time icing the cake! Haha!
