A modern design is the most family friendly for our family and it could be for yours, too! I’m honored to be a contributor for Inspired Home, sharing these lessons learned and much more!
My husband and I have spent the last few years slowly assembling our home design to be one that is both modern and minimalist. After hours of keeping our kids from touching the shiny trinkets and antiques at their grandparents house, we’ve learned to keep it simple at our house.
After reading many parenting books, I learned that it’s a wonderful thing to allow children as much freedom in the home as possible for creativity and play time. This means entire portions of the house are practically child proof and indestructible. Because of that, I don’t have to say things like “don’t touch that” and “no, no” a lot less often. Saying them less often means they mean more when I actually do have to say them…especially when we’re at the grandparents house around all those pretty things.
I talk more about what pieces in the home to splurge on and what pieces to go cheap on when you’re designing a family friendly modern home at Inspired Home, so go check it out!
I have been selected by the International Housewares Association to be a contributor for Inspired Home. While I have been compensated for my time, my opinions are my own. Please read my disclosure policy for further information.
Up next, decorating my house for me 🙂 🙂
So pretty! Where is your painting from on your dresser?
Thank you Jenna! It’s actually from Hobby Lobby! 🙂
