21 weeks pregnant with baby #3

Well, Hurricane Matthew came during the week I turned 20 weeks, so we didn’t get a chance to take a photo. On to 21 weeks (I actually turned 21 weeks on Tuesday and took this photo on Wednesday)…just now getting a chance to write the post! I feel a lot bigger and the belly feels heavier this time around than with Hayden (my second) or Liam (my first), even though from the photos I look basically the same in size.

How far along? 21 weeks
Maternity clothes? Yes, completely. I’m thankfully it’s getting cooler outside because I mainly just have winter maternity clothes.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: I’m sleeping pretty well at the moment. I usually get up once to use the bathroom. I’m also finding that if I don’t get between 8-10 hours per night, I’m exhausted the next day. That means I’m asleep as soon as the kids are and wake up just before they do!
Best moment this week:
Well, I’ll back-track as we got to see the baby in the anatomy scan last week. Always a fun visit!
Miss Anything? I miss walking/running. It’s not that I can’t do it, but every time we get out to exercise, the mosquitos attack. I try to get out and run 3 times a week since running definitely delivers more wind, therefore less mosquitos. But, since I’ve been pregnant, there hasn’t been a run/walk that one of us (the kids or myself) haven’t gotten bitten. And with the Zika virus still a scare, I’m terrified…for all of us. I hope this cold weather comes along soon and gets rid of the mosquitos! Last year they hung around until Christmas!
Movement: Oh yes. Little kicks and what I think are the baby doing summersaults. At first they felt just like Braxton Hicks, but I know that can’t be. This one’s a strong one!
Food cravings: Mainly just eating healthy and getting my chocolate fix.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Thankfully, no. I was extremely nauseous this pregnancy from week 6 – week 17. I felt like I wanted to just die. And keeping up with the kids and house during it all, was terrible. My insurance wouldn’t cover Diclegis, but my OB had me take a combo of vitamin b6 and Unisom to help with the nausea. It definitely helped me sleep through the nausea at night! I’m so thankful that portion of the pregnancy is over.
Gender: It’s a surprise!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Belly feels heavy. I usually wear Blanqi pants or tank to help support. The heartburn is starting to settle in, just like it did in my other two pregnancies. Right now it’s tamed by the occasional Tums, but I’m very careful to avoid drinking water right before or after eating. And I definitely don’t eat before bedtime. I learned that the hard way and had terrible heartburn through the night…the kind where the pain radiates from your upper stomach to your back and chest. I woke up and thought I was having a heart attack!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On and fitting normally.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but occasionally finding myself frustrated at the lack of “me time” I’m getting these days. But, it comes with the territory! Now, we must find a good babysitter and go on our once a quarter date night. Haha!
Looking forward to: Our fall family trip this week! We’re heading to Pisgah Forest!
