Blaire is 5 months

  • Date: July 17th, 2017
  • Height: 25 inches
  • Weight: 14 lbs 8 oz
  • Sleeping Pattern: Blaire was on a roll and sleeping like a dream at the beginning of the month, usually with just one wake up in the night. Then, I took her with me to NYC and it all fell down the hole. Since then, she’s been waking anywhere from 45 minutes-3 hours to feed in the night. She’s been going to sleep around 8pm and wakes for the day around 7am.
  • Eating Habits: She’s still pretty much exclusively breastfeeding. She does have a 4 ounce bottle of formula at night almost every night. I breastfeed her after she wakes up from every sleep.
  • Development: This girl is on the verge of sitting up. She sits up assisted very well. She’s also bringing every from her hands to her mouth. It’s so fun seeing her hand-eye coordination develop! Blaire is also becoming very vocal. She does a lot of “ahhh”s and sucking in air to make a high pitched noise (all my kids did this!).
  • Mischief: I can’t say she’s been up to anything too bad except for the sleeping issues. But, she’s such a happy baby even when she’s tired that it’s hard to say she’s up to no good! The one thing we’ve noticed is she has serious mommy-itis. She will cry if she sees an unfamiliar face and cries if she notices that mommy isn’t holding her. I’m not going to lie, I love the attention! 🙂
  • Cuteness: She started to hold and suck her toes. It’s pretty much the cutest thing ever.
  • Talking: Her loud “aaahhhh”s are just so cute! She even starts to giggle if I pop my lips or tickle her!
  • Favorites: Blaire loves watching what’s going on and loves seeing her brothers play. Her favorite viewing angle is on my hip still.
  • Firsts: Blaire took her first plane ride at the first of the month to NYC for 24 hours with mama! Mama was filming a Pampers video.
  • Concerns: I’m not concerned about anything right now, besides the fact that time is flying by too quickly!
  • A Day in the Life: This month, Blaire goes to bed around 8pm. She gets a bath and is then nursed to sleep and wakes up every 45 minutes – 3 hours throughout the night until 6-7am. During the day, she takes cat naps (30-45 minutes long). It’s rare that she sleeps for more than that, but occasionally she’s do a 2 hour nap. During the day with the cat naps she’ll be up for 1-3 hours straight before napping.
