Blaire is 6 months

  • Date: August 17th, 2017
  • Height: 26 inches
  • Weight: 14 lbs 13 oz
  • Sleeping Pattern: I finally started writing down her sleep schedule, specifically her nap schedule. That helped a lot in determining how long she was sleeping during the day. She does around 4 hours of napping during the day, which makes since because she is usually up a lot at night. In just the past week, she’s started to sleep a little better at night. She will usually do 2 wake ups during the night, usually around the same time. At this point, I think it’s just comfort that she wake up because she doesn’t ever drink all the milk I have to give her. Time to get cracking on the sleep training!
  • Eating Habits: She tried her first solid foods right at the start of 6 months. She loved it! No yuck face and wanted more! However, the entire day after she had her first peas, she was fussy, didn’t sleep, got a rash and had an unusual poop. I haven’t given her more since. The doctor said she may be allergic, so we’re going to move on after her rash and poop clears up. We’ll try peas again down the road. Other than that exciting milestone, she is breastfeed all day/night and has one supplementary bottle of formula.
  • Development: She almost has sitting up down. She just needs a little assistance when she gets wobbly. She’s also getting up on all fours and rocking! Time is flying too quickly!
  • Mischief: Blaire still has bad mommy-itis and I love it! Even if I put her down in one of her exercauser and she sees me doing dishes or what not, she cries. Silly girl! She likes being held!
  • Cuteness: She is the smiliest thing ever! She’ll give such an adorable grin to everyone!
  • Talking: She’s started to get more vocal, especially if she doesn’t like something (i.e. her brothers hugging her too much or when she doesn’t get the toy she wants).
  • Favorites: Anything she can put into her mouth and my right hip.
  • Firsts: Tried her first solid food…peas! She also got her bottom two teeth at the beginning of the month (7/26). I have a feeling she’s teething her next two now!
  • Concerns: She’s doing great! No concerns!
  • A Day in the Life: This month, Blaire goes to bed around 8pm. She gets a bath and is then nursed to sleep and wakes up 1-3 times throughout the night until 7am. During the day she takes 3-4 naps. They are getting longer, so they’ll usually last for 45-90 minutes long. During the day with the cat naps she’ll be up for 1-3 hours straight before napping.
