Blaire is 8 months

  • Date: October 17th, 2017
  • Height: 27 inches
  • Weight: 16 lbs 13oz
  • Sleeping Pattern: She’s been better about taking naps (usually 2 naps during the day, lasting 45-90 minutes), but she continues to wake during the night 1-3 times. I blame teething.
  • Eating Habits: I tried peas again since it had been a few months, but she broke out in a rash again. No more peas for Miss Blaire for a while! She’s also tried green beans, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, corn, bananas, apples, zucchini, broccoli, prunes, peaches and carrots. She’s been a good eater, but isn’t as big of a fan of the sweet fruits. She’d much rather have a vegetable plain or mixed with fruit instead of fruit alone. Other than that, she’s breastfed and has one 4-6 oz bottle to top her off at night.
  • Development: Blaire is FAST! She’s crawling everywhere, quite quickly and is even pulling up to standing.
  • Mischief: She knows just where she’s not supposed to go now. Her favorite thing is to find the quickest path to the dog food/water to play in. She even starts giggling when I start chasing after her.
  • Cuteness: She plays shy when someone says hi to her while I’m holding her. She’ll cut her eyes at them and lean her head on my shoulder. So cute!
  • Talking: She says “dada” and a version of “baba”! I think she forgot how to say, “mama”.
  • Favorites: She still loves being carried, but she also has a new love of her pacifier! Who would have thought. She HATED it when she was little, but it’s like she forgot how to suck her thumb after she got a cold last month. I randomly decided to try the pacifier again because I was desperate to get some sleep. Turns out, she loves it! She just needs it to fall asleep. She’d also rather play with the boy’s toys than any baby toy we have.
  • Firsts: She went from crawling quickly to now pulling up to standing! And lots of veggies and fruits (see food section).
  • Concerns: I think she’s cutting her top 4 teeth right now which is causing her a lot of discomfort. I’m hoping she breaks them through quickly!
  • A Day in the Life: This month, Blaire goes to bed around 7-7:30pm. She gets a bath and is then nursed to sleep and wakes up 1-3 times throughout the night until 7am. During the day she takes 1-3 naps. They are getting longer, so they’ll usually last for 45-90 minutes long. During the day with the cat naps she’ll be up for 2-3 hours straight before napping.
